About Mouth Guards
Mouth guards that are made-to-order by a dentist, like our dentists in Coppell, TX, can be used to defend the mouth while playing contact sports (i.e. hockey and football) or other sports that can involve injury (i.e. biking and skateboarding). In addition to shielding the teeth, jaw, and gums, using a mouth guards has also been proven to improve athletic performance by decreasing stress, which lessens the release of hormones that can constrain endurance, strength, and reaction time. Although store-bought mouth guards are cheaper, custom-made mouth guards from our dentists at Riverchase Dental Care are crafted from better quality supplies, fit more securely, last longer, and provide more protection, which can prevent expensive dental treatments.

"I thank God for Dr. Joe! Dr. Joe is very professional and caring about his patients. Keeping them calm and fully educating them on their dental health. I appreciate that Dr. Joe takes a more conservative approach. I know he is very knowledgeable and highly skilled. I came to his office recently in Jan. 2019 for a second opinion & my suspicions about the previous doctor's assessment from LA was right. UNNECESSARY diagnoses to pad their pocket. (this happens far too often) So thankfully I was able to receive the proper care and correct diagnosis by Dr. Joe and his team. I now fly from LA to Dallas for all my dental care because I know I can trust him. Trust means everything. I enjoy all the office staff, manager and my dental hygienist - Adriana she's AMAZING too. I highly recommend Dr. Joe and his office if you want someone who is trustworthy, professional and treat you with care."- D.M. / Google / May 19, 2019

Our dentists will explain all mouth guard maintenance guidelines, particularly the ideal method to clean and carry the mouth guard. To confirm the wear and fit of the guard is fine-tuned when needed, the patient should bring their mouth guard to each of their scheduled appointments at Riverchase Dental Care. With good use and care, a mouth guard can be kept as many as 5 - 8 years, but our dentists will examine the mouth guard frequently and help every patient determine when they need a new mouth guard.
