What to Expect
For after-hours dental emergencies, the patient is advised to phone Riverchase Dental Care and give a message to our answering service. Our dentists (or another approved dentist, if our dentists are not available) is phoned and the patient’s information and number is passed on to our dentists, who will call the patient. Typically emergencies can be resolved with a prescription submitted to a pharmacy and the patient is asked to visit Riverchase Dental Care when the office opens. If the patient has a more serious problem of uncontrollable bleeding, extreme pain, and/or signs of an infection fever and swelling, our dentists will generally send the patient right away to the nearest emergency room if it is during non-office hours.
Our dentists will typically schedule a second appointment to assess the patient’s progress or to complete the needed treatments. Our dentists will talk to each patient regarding individual care guidelines that should be followed precisely for better healing. Patients should continue to schedule yearly dental exams and bi-annual dental cleanings at Riverchase Dental Care so our dentists can find and treat any future concerns that may need emergency care.
